Mercedes Kraus

I’m an editor, creative director, writer, and content strategist working largely in the spheres of culture, creativity, and place. I coach Asad Syrkett, the editor-in-chief of Elle Decor, where I sometimes contribute. I’m also a photographer, designer, collage-maker, and home vibes-adjuster, and I run an Instagram account for my love of vases and vessels.

Storytelling and editorial publishing have been my passion since I joined the yearbook club in middle school (really), and I’ve enjoyed the energy of a broad range of creative work: from founding Womanzine, a multimedia webzine that also briefly existed as a delivery service for printed zines, to serving as the executive editor at Curbed. Most recently I was the director of content at the LINE, Saguaro, and Ned hotels (part of Soho House & Co.), but you can see LinkedIn for all that.
